The ITS Controlled Boring Product Range comprises a number of highly efficient Controlled Boring Bars and Contouring Heads which can be used to carry out a wide variety of complex precision machining operations from a single tool setup.

Each incorporates a precision internal mechanism, which is actuated via the CNC controls of the machine tool to precisely control the radial movement of the cutters during the actual machining cycle.

With the advanced CNC controls now standard on most machine tools, it is therefore possible to programme ITS equipped machines not only for multiple diameter changes, but also for automatic machining of complex geometries such as: tapers, radii, chamfers, threading and grooving in a single set up.

This dramatically reduces the time consuming tool changes and secondary operations, bringing vastly increased productivity to the cutting edge.
